Recently, the MULTI-STAGE CENTRIFUGAL HORIZONTAL PUMPING SYSTEMS (Model: HPS 7028-400), meticulously developed by Sunry Petroleum Equipment, successfully completed commissioning at the ONR/TFT oilfield blocks of Algeria's national oil company SONATRACH and has officially been put into operation. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Sunry Petroleum's technological advancement in the oilfield equipment sector.

Project Background

This project originated in 2022, when Norinco Vehicle, with the technical support of Sunry Petroleum, successfully secured the ENSP tender. Starting in early 2023, leveraging its robust R&D and manufacturing capabilities, Sunry Petroleum independently designed and manufactured the equipment, which was delivered to Norinco by the end of 2023 and subsequently shipped to Algeria for the end-user, SONATRACH.

Field Commissioning

In late June 2024, after the equipment arrived at the designated oilfield, Sunry Petroleum quickly assembled a professional commissioning team comprising elite engineers specializing in mechanics, control systems, and instrumentation. Over the next three months, the engineers worked tirelessly on-site, overcoming numerous challenges and dedicating themselves to the commissioning process. Ultimately, all four units were successfully commissioned, with key parameters such as pump speed, pressure, and flow rate meeting the design specifications precisely. The outstanding operational performance of the equipment garnered high praise from the users. To date, the equipment has been operating stably for three months without any failures, demonstrating exceptional reliability.

Technical Features

This skid-mounted HPS crude oil transfer pump features a horizontal multistage centrifugal pump group and incorporates multiple cutting-edge technologies. The main pump is a 21-stage horizontal centrifugal pump produced in Canada, while the booster pump adopts Sulzer’s single-stage pump, ensuring powerful output. On the control side, the system is equipped with a Siemens PLC control unit, enabling remote and fully automated operations. The innovative pump speed and liquid level linkage control mode are particularly noteworthy: when the liquid level decreases, the pump speed is automatically reduced; as the liquid level rises, the pump speed increases accordingly. Furthermore, the equipment intelligently adjusts to changes in inlet pressure: when the inlet pressure drops below 3 bar, the booster pump automatically starts to increase the suction pressure of the main pump; when the inlet pressure exceeds 3 bar, the booster pump automatically shuts down, maintaining stable output pressure from the main pump. This fully automated control technology not only achieves unattended operation, significantly reducing time and labor costs, but also greatly enhances operational efficiency and safety.

Applications

Primarily applied in the EPF (Early Production Facility) sector of the oil industry, this equipment provides efficient and stable solutions for crude oil transfer in oilfields. Its successful application in the Algerian oilfields has fully demonstrated its exceptional performance under complex working conditions.

Future Outlook

Sunry Petroleum remains committed to advancing its technical capabilities and market competitiveness in three key areas: formation testing, frac flowback, and EPF. The successful commissioning of the HPS 7028-400 further solidifies the company’s leading position in this field. Moving forward, Sunry Petroleum will continue to uphold its philosophy of technological innovation, quality excellence, and customer-first, delivering more efficient and intelligent equipment solutions to the global oil and gas industry.
